Richard Renaldi is one of my favorite photographers. Among the stacks of photography books I own, my autographed copy of Renaldi’s Fall River Boys remains one of most treasured, and his portraiture has inspired some of my own work on so many levels.
Richard and his partner Seth have traveled the world as a result of Richard’s photography as well as Charles Lane Press, the art/photography publishing company they established together. And that’s how his Hotel Room Portraits came to be: Richard has been taking a portrait of himself and Seth in every hotel room they have occupied since 1999. I love this series.

I’ve always liked this series, too, and have kind of a crush on Seth. Their nude double portrait is pretty perfect.

These guys also renovated a great farmhouse in Pennsylvania and are featured in Dwell magazine December/January 2012 issue.

Just love this whole set of photos that were done of the two of them in their hotel or motel rooms that they have stayed in while among their travels near and far. Very well done and masterfully incorporated into their artwork.
