I love the grace of these live oaks framing this marvelous house. I’ve been here, this is the plantation where “Interview with the Vampire” with Brad Pitt was filmed. It was hot as hell that day I visited, but standing on that second floor porch looking down the driveway was marvelous. I’d love to go back. [Click to enlarge.]
I want to stay at this motor lodge.
And then I want to buy gas from this station (preferably to fill up one of these two convertibles).
Who’d think that an info tower at an airport would make my list of beautiful things. But the tower at Berlin Schönefeld Airport did just that. The twisting makes the building look like its in motion, and at night the different colors rotating up and down its translucent skin only add to that feeling. [Click to enlarge.]
I find myself missing New York lately.
Here’s one of my favorite buildings there, under construction.
And here’s one of my favorite buildings in New York, or anywhere, really. I love this.
Since you can see Rockefeller Center on the left in this photo, it must have been taken from the top of the Empire State Building. I haven’t been up there. I have been to the top of Rockefeller Center, and I think I would prefer that view. For one, it’s closer to Central Park. And for another, you can see the Empire State Building.
And here’s a new apartment building that’s going to be constructed on Central Park West. I would not cry if I had to live here someday.
